The UMass Amherst Alumni Association would like to make you aware of a scholarship that is available exclusively to UMass Amherst students that are from Lawrence or Lowell, Massachusetts. The Michael W. Morris Scholarship has been named in honor of Lawrence native and longtime UMass Amherst champion, Michael W. Morris ’63, who served as president of the Alumni Association and remains a vital and active alumni ambassador.
One recipient will be selected by the UMass Amherst Alumni Association Honors and Awards Committee based on their application and will be awarded $2,000 towards their fall 2012 tuition and fees. Recipients will be honored at the Alumni Association Scholarships & Awards Reception on Sunday, April 8, 2012.
Candidates applying for this scholarship must be a current undergraduate student from Lawrence or Lowell and demonstrate distinctive character, leadership and motivation through active participation in the campus, community or civic service. Student must also be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher). |
